چکیده

On 4 March 2021 at 9 UTC a 30-m in diameter near-Earth asteroid DW1 passed the Earth distance of 570000 km, reaching maximum brightness V=14.6 mag. We observed it photometrically from 2 March, when was visible V=16.5 mag, until 7 (V=18.2 mag). During that time swept 170 degrees long arc northern sky, spanning solar phase angles range 36 to 86 degrees. This made an excellent target for physical characterisation, including spin axis and shape derivation. Convex inversion lightcurves gives sidereal period rotation P=0.013760 +/- 0.000001 h, two solutions ecliptic coordinates: (A) lambda_1=57 10, beta_1=29 (B) lambda_2=67 beta_2=-40 10. The magnitude-phase curve can be fitted with standard H, G function H=24.8 0.5 mag assumed G=0.24. colour indices are g-i=0.79 0.01 i-z=0.01 0.02 which indicates S taxonomic class, average geometric albedo p_V=0.23 0.02. effective diameter, derived H p_V, is D=30 10 m. It found inclination not perpendicular orbital plane (obliquity epsilon=54 or epsilon=123 10). More axes VSAs should determined check, if exception typical case.

Near-Earth Asteroid Search Programs

The discovery of the potentially hazardous near-Earth asteroid (NEA) component of the minor-planet population has been enhanced by better detecting and computing technology. A government mandate to quantify the terrestrial impact hazard and to detect 90% of all NEAs larger than 1 km can be realistically addressed. The characteristics, capabilities, and strategies of the major search programs il...

The hazard of near-Earth asteroid impacts on earth

Near-Earth asteroids (NEAs) have struck the Earth throughout its existence. During epochs when life was gaining a foothold f 4 Ga, the impact rate was thousands of times what it is today. Even during the Phanerozoic, the numbers of NEAs guarantee that there were other impacts, possibly larger than the Chicxulub event, which was responsible for the Cretaceous–Tertiary extinctions. Astronomers ha...

Near Earth Asteroid Rendezvous: Mission Summary

On February 14, 2000, the Near Earth Asteroid Rendezvous spacecraft (NEAR Shoemaker) began the first orbital study of an asteroid, the near-Earth object 433 Eros. Almost a year later, on February 12, 2001, NEAR Shoemaker completed its mission by landing on the asteroid and acquiring data from its surface. NEAR Shoemaker’s intensive study has found an average density of 2.67 ± 0.03, almost unifo...

Asteroid Models from the Pan-STARRS Photometry

We present simulations on the asteroid photometric data that will be provided by the PanSTARRS (Panoramic Survey Telescope and Rapid Response System). The simulations were performed using realistic shape and light-scattering models, random orientation of spin axes, and rotation periods in the range 2–24 h. We show that physical models of asteroids can be reconstructed from this data with some l...

Thermal infrared observations of near - Earth asteroid 2002 NY 40 ⋆

We obtained N-band observations of the Apollo asteroid 2002 NY40 during its close Earth fly-by in August 2002 with TIMMI2 at the ESO 3.6 m telescope. The photometric measurement allowed us to derive a radiometric diameter of 0.28±0.03 km and an albedo of 0.34±0.06 through the near-Earth asteroid thermal model (NEATM) and a thermophysical model (TPM). The values are in agreement with results fro...
